The Tervuren is highly intelligent, alert, and protective. They form deep bonds with their family and are naturally reserved with strangers, making them excellent watchdogs. They are energetic and require both mental and physical stimulation.
Requires substantial daily exercise, including long walks, runs, and vigorous play. Mental stimulation through advanced training, agility, or herding activities is equally important to prevent boredom.
Brush the long, double coat 2-3 times a week to prevent mats, with more frequent brushing during seasonal sheds. Provide a high-quality diet suitable for active, large breeds. Regular nail trimming and ear cleaning are essential.
