Savannahs are incredibly active, curious, and intelligent cats. They form strong bonds with their owners, often following them around, and can be trained to walk on a leash. Their adventurous spirit requires ample mental and physical stimulation.
Weekly brushing is sufficient for their short coat. Provide a very large, secure environment with tall cat trees for climbing. Savannahs are known to be skilled jumpers and may turn on faucets or open doors, so cat-proofing is essential.
A high-protein diet is recommended. Some owners feed a raw or high-quality commercial diet to meet their nutritional needs. Consult your vet for specific dietary advice, as their metabolism can be high.
